Gaius gives us this story about Austrian sniper rifles sold to Iran last year that now are appearing in terrorist hands in Iraq.
Â
More than 100 of the.50 calibre weapons, capable of penetrating body armour, have been discovered by American troops during raids.
The guns were part of a shipment of 800 rifles that the Austrian company, Steyr-Mannlicher, exported legally to Iran last year.
What I’d like to know is how leading Moonbat Military Analyst Jeff Huber says about this, seeing as he crossposted a denunciation of the WaPo’s reporting of Iran’s link to terrorism in Iraq to every major Leftwing site.
Â
The echo chamber has kicked into high gear on the “proof” that Iran has been sending weapons into Iraq. Here’s how this latest propaganda campaign evolved, and how two of our most “trusted” news sources enabled it.
...
The same neo-conmen who duped us into the Iraq misadventure are pushing us into another woebegone war with Iran, and the same media outlets who aided and abetted them the last time are doing it again. With “free press” sources like the Washington Post and the New York Times, who needs Fox News?
I suppose Cmdr. Huber (Ret) thinks that the freaking Telegraph is some Rovewellian organ of necon conment? How can we trust the Left to lead this country when their brightest defense minds are riddled with BDS? One of the reasons, not the sole reason but perhaps a significant one, that the situation has decayed so far in Iraq is the support by Iran for militias such as the Mehdi Army.Â
You can’t make an educated decision without at least looking at various points of view. People like Huber are scared to death that if Iran is seriously caught in the cookie jar that people might begin to understand that the violence committed by sectarian thugs is not wholey home grown. Huber, and other ”analysts” like him are doing the equivalent of putting their fingers in their ears and saying “lalalalalalalalalalalal”.
