Taxpayer Protest in Overland Park, Kansas

Care for a tea party anyone?

Many great Americans (I’d estimate about 300 or so) braved the cold weather to protest the stimulus package in front of Democratic Representative Dennis Moore’s offices today.  There were a lot of sympathetic folks driving by as they honked their horns in support.  The local media showed up to cover the event, and many of the protesters got interviewed by television and radio.

Nobody got tear gassed, doused with a firehose or pelted with eggs, so all in all I’d say it was a pretty successful event.

Good operating rules to work from for future protests:

Yeah, I saw that. The protest was not that well organized… I suppose that’s because most of us normally spend our time going to work, paying bills, and taking showers. Hippies are not encumbered by such things and simply have more time to organize their protests.

In the future I’m betting these things will be somewhat more effective.

Been thinking that we need a tea party out here. Nancy’s office would be nice.
