Aussie sailors found a new game to play on the, aptly named, HMAS Success. Basically it was a scoreboard for scoring.
The men would try to outdo each other with the number of women they could sleep with, and gave each female a dollar value on a list known as “The Ledger”, in order to win cash prizes.Mariners could earn extra “points” by sleeping with a female officer or for having sexual intercourse with a lesbian and points were also awarded for sex in adventurous or outlandish locations, such as the top of a pool table.
At least they weren’t snorkeling with Eric Massa.
In full disclosure the Fraternity I belonged to had a similar game with points for what you did with a “fresh score” at the weekly Friday night beer bash. Our Hail Mary was not bedding a lesbian but rather “The Snake”. That was where you knocked boots with a brother’s real girl friend. The idea being if she’d cheat now she’d cheat later.
On the other hand we weren’t on a warship. Furthermore, it boggles my mind that no one above these sailors knew that there was sex going on. The issue the Aussies seem to have is that it was coerced…it shouldn’t be happening at all on aship.
