One day the woods caught on fire and all the animals ran for safety. At the edge of a river a scorpion crawled out of the smoky brush and spying a frog he asked the amphibian for a lift across the river.
The frog was hesitant and told the scorpion he really couldn’t help him because the scorpion might sting him.
The scorpion replied that he certainly wouldn’t sting the frog because he wouldn’t repay a kindness that way. Besides stinging the frog would kill them both as the scorpion couldn’t swim.
Thus mollified the frog allowed the scorpion to crawl on his back and he set off for the other side of the river. But halfway across the river the scorpion stung the frog. As the frog began to die and sink he cried out to the scorpion “why have you stung me? You’ve killed us both!”
The scorpion replied with a shrug “because I’m a scorpion”.
The Canadians have arrested almost a score of people, Islamists, who were plotting to blow up Parliament and other government targets. What are the Liberals going to say now?
The Canadians are the nicest People on the planet; they are courteous, generous and unflinchingly kind. They have one of the most tolerant societies on Earth. They’ve turned their entire army into a Peacekeeping Force. They adamantly stayed out of Iraq and were very vocal in their opposition to the Iraq war. And what do they get for this? The Radical Islamic Fundamentalists want to kill them.
Because that’s what the RIFs do!
They want to kill or convert everyone and they want to destroy western civilization. Certainly Liberals everywhere will be wringing their hands trying to figure out what they did wrong. When the answer is obvious…they let a scorpion ride on their back.
